Appeals court blocks New Jersey from shutting down Kalshi's sports markets

The Third Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that New Jersey cannot bring an enforcement action against Kalshi's sports markets, as the federal Commodity Exchange Act preempts state gambling laws. This decision blocks New Jersey from shutting down these markets. The ruling supports Kalshi's continued operation of event contracts.
