FBI Reports $11.37B in Crypto Scam Losses as US Fraud Hits Record High

The FBI's IC3 reported a record $11.37 billion in cryptocurrency scam losses in 2025, up 22% year-over-year from 181,565 complaints. Investment scams accounted for $7.2 billion of these losses, primarily targeting U.S. users via social media apps. Chainalysis estimates total crypto scam losses at $17 billion.
