Bitcoin surged to $72,000 after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a two-week truce with Iran, triggering $595 million (R$3.06 billion) in cryptocurrency liquidations that affected 118,000 traders. The liquidations were predominantly short positions at $427 million versus $168 million in longs, reflecting heavy bearish bets prior to the news. Bitcoin accounted for $245 million of the total, with Ethereum at $126 million.
