The FBI's IC3 reported record $11.3 billion in US crypto scam losses for 2025, up 22% from 2024, based on 181,565 complaints with an average loss of $62,604. Crypto investment scams led with $7.228 billion in losses, while seniors aged 60+ suffered $4.432 billion, the highest among demographics. Fraud at crypto ATMs surged 58% to $389 million, and recovery scams added $1.4 billion.
