Rwanda Reaffirms Crypto Ban After Bybit Adds Franc Support

Rwanda’s central bank has restated its prohibition on cryptocurrency activities involving the Rwandan franc after Bybit added support for the currency on its P2P marketplace. The bank warned residents against using such services due to financial risks and lack of legal protection, emphasizing that the franc is the only legal tender. This move reinforces Rwanda's restrictive crypto stance since 2018 while it develops a state-backed digital franc.
