Arizona Temporarily Stands Down on Kalshi Prosecution as Federal Ruling Blocks Monday Arraignment

A federal judge's emergency order has blocked Arizona from proceeding with the arraignment of Kalshi, a prediction market operator, preventing what would have been the first criminal case of its kind in U.S. history. This ruling delivers an early victory to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in the ongoing dispute over whether states can classify event contracts as gambling. Arizona has temporarily stood down on the prosecution.
