Coreia do Sul propõe “circuit breaker” para criptomoedas após erro bilionário
By Rodrigo Tolotti
South Korea's central bank proposed 'circuit breaker' mechanisms for cryptocurrency exchanges, akin to stock markets, after Bithumb's operational error that accidentally transferred 620,000 BTC—worth about $43 billion—to users' wallets. The mistake, caused by inputting BTC rewards instead of KRW, led to a 15% drop in the BTC-KRW pair and investor losses as some users sold the coins. The report calls for stronger regulations, including rapid error detection and trading halts, amid discussions on a comprehensive crypto framework.
