Kraken Targeted by Extortion Group Threatening to Leak Internal Support Videos

Kraken, one of the largest U.S.-based cryptocurrency exchanges, announced that a criminal group is threatening to release videos of its internal support systems unless the company pays an undisclosed ransom. Chief Security Officer Nick Percoco confirmed on April 13, 2026, that Kraken will not pay the extortion demands. The incident involves two insider events.
