American musician Garrett Dutton lost 5.9 BTC, worth $420,000 (R$2.1 million), in a phishing scam after downloading a fake Ledger app from the App Store and entering his 24-word seed phrase. He shared the ordeal on X, noting his BTC retirement fund vanished instantly while other cryptos remained safe. On-chain investigator ZachXBT traced the stolen funds to laundering on KuCoin across nine addresses.
